I am an electrical engineer who has been working in I+D department for more than 5 years. 2 years in electronics car development and now, 3 years, in electrical charging stations development.
What was your original motivation to become a researcher?
From my point of view, working in a research project is a great environment to apply my engineering skills and also this kind of projects always involves new technical challenges that requires a lot of creativity to find the best solution.
What is your (main) research area today?
Nowadays I am working in Circontrol I+D department. Circontrol is an important electrical charging station manufacturer located in Barcelona. Currently, I am involved in a new charging station design which requires a lot of effort from all the engineering team.
What is the main focus of your team in XL-CONNECT?
We are leading the design and also the manufacturing of the V2G charging station that will be deployed across Europe in several demonstrations locations. In addition, my colleagues from software are developing a DLM solution which will be capable of manage several energy inputs and outputs and V2G charging stations to provide dynamic and intelligent electrical grid balance.
From all your activities within the project, what are you the most proud of/keen to share with the public?
At this project stage we are just starting our leading task. For that reason, we don’t have already important milestones achieved. But we expect soon be able to test our first V2G charging station prototype and validate the design. Also we are testing a preliminary version of our DLM solution.
How do you expect the XL-CONNECT results will impact your organisation?
Researching projects always give a lot of knowledge to our organisation. I think that this project will help to Circontrol to boost their knowledge in the V2G field and also will improve our DLM solution giving to it V2G capabilities and intelligent grid communication.
