The UNIFI partner in the XL-CONNECT project participated in the 53rd National Conference of the Italian Association for Stress Analysis (AIAS 2024), held from 4 to 7 September 2024 in Naples, Italy.
AIAS 2024, organized by the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II at the Centro Congressi Federico II, brought together researchers, academics, engineers, and industry representatives to discuss recent developments in mechanical design, structural analysis, and materials engineering. The conference featured more than 240 scientific presentations covering topics such as additive manufacturing, circular design, structural analysis, and advanced modelling approaches.
UNIFI presented an approach for assessing the impacts of battery-based systems, focusing on the application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies to support sustainable engineering and technology development.
The presented work was further disseminated through the publication of the conference proceedings paper:
“A Review of Computational Methods and Tools for Life Cycle Assessment of Traction Battery Systems.”
The paper reviews current computational methods and tools used for the Life Cycle Assessment of traction battery systems, providing insights into available approaches for evaluating environmental impacts and supporting more sustainable battery system design.
Participation in AIAS 2024 represents an important opportunity for the XL-CONNECT project, enabling UNIFI to share project-related research outcomes with the wider scientific community and contribute to the advancement of sustainable solutions for battery-based technologies.
