What was your original motivation to become a researcher/project manager?
A research career provides me with the opportunity to solve interesting technical challenges that are useful in the real-world and where I can gain new experiences, skills, and expertise. Moreover, a research career offers the chance to meet, collaborate with, and be inspired by exceptional individuals, all of which helps me grow both professionally and personally.
What is your (main) research area today?
Nowadays, my research focuses on the digital transformation of the energy sector. I concentrate on developing innovative tools for optimization, estimation, and prediction that enhance the overall efficiency of power systems by integrating technical, market, and regulatory aspects.
What is the main focus of your team in XL-Connect?
We are focusing on the assessment of impact of massive deployment of electric vehicles to grid (its operation and planning). We are developing tools (e.g. V2G schemes), which aims to enable large scale integration of electric vehicles into power systems is a secure way.
From all your activities within the project, what are you the most proud of/keen to share with the public?
In the XL-Connect, we are exploring how the massive deployment of electric vehicles will shape the operation and planning of future power grids. To support this transition, we are developing innovative tools (e.g. advanced V2G operational schemes) that aim to unlock the large-scale, secure, and reliable integration of electric vehicles into modern power systems.
How do you expect the XL-Connect results will impact your organisation?
Participation in this prestigious EU project strengthens our international research visibility and allows us to collaborate with outstanding research teams across Europe. The solutions we are developing represent truly innovative approaches with strong potential for real-world application by key stakeholders in the energy sector such as DSOs, TSOs or regulatory bodies.
